time to catch up

So, after not blogging for about 3 weeks I am back. I was in the hospital for two days and then the following week, I just did not feel up to getting on the computer at all. Plus, Jaelyn ended up having a double ear infection and Lonnie had an upper respiratory infection all in the same week. I am soo glad we are past that week and all three healthy again! Then a few days ago I figured "hey I think I'll go blog." Well that idea was shot down because I couldn't remember any of my login info and had misplaced my paper with the info on it. Today is a new day though. I found the paper and was finally able to login. Yay!!

We have just been having some very simple family time lately. We got the little swimming pool for Jaelyn. She has wanted to swim everyday; and we have been having play date time for Jaelyn with her little friend Clayton once a week. No matter how mean one of them end up being they still give each other a hug before they go home and say they had fun playing. Jaelyn loves spending time with her "Cayken". I had a Wonderful Mother's Day! My Mom and MIL gave me some great gifts(gift card, 31 utility bag, and some beautiful potted flowers) Jaelyn got me a birdbath that I had been wanting for my yard. Then my loving husband brought me home flowers and my favorite bag of chocolates. I was feeling a little spoiled.

I must say Jaelyn's bad behavior I talked about in my last post was due to the double ear infection. She is her usual dramatic, energetic, most-of-the time sweet self again. Thank goodness for antibiotics...  She wants to be around other kids so bad. When we took her to the park the other day she tried to make friends with a little girl. But the girl was probably around 5 or 6 years old. Then we went to a Graduation party for my cousin and Jaelyn again spotted a little girl as soon as we got to the party. She and the little girl quickly became friends running and playing together. They even had to sit with each other while eating their dinner. But once again this little girl wanted to play with a little older kids and eventually did. She was 4 going on 5. Jaelyn will be 3 in July and just wants to make friends so bad, but it seems every place we go she is the youngest kid there.

On May 12th Jaelyn surprised me. While she was taking a bath that night she told me she needed to go potty. This was shocking to me because she had never done it. We started to try to potty train when she was 18 months old and she wouldn't have anything to do with it. Every few months we would try again and every time it was a total screaming fit throwing session. Now she is 34 months old and decides to do it on her own. Lots of friends had told me don't worry about it she will do it when she is ready. In the back of my mind I was thinking yeah right. She won't do it on her own she is one stubborn child. Well, I am very glad to say I was proved wrong. Jaelyn is in her second week of training and doing great. We have only had one day she did not go in the potty and that was do to being at the graduation party and visiting with Nana and Papaw. She was just to excited and distracted to realize she needed to stop and potty. We have been so proud of her. Her daddy has told her if she continues to do good this week she will get to go to the movies! Since he has told her that she has gotten almost perfect days. I know this is just the start, but we are so excited to have reached this goal. This was the only thing she was a little slow on learning for us. (or so it seemed) We will just have to see if she gets to go to the movies on Thursday or Friday.

She got to go to the park  and loved this big slide. She has a thing for slides.

Our first potty chart and look how well she did.

Getting her first taste at the pool for this summer

Lonnie was washing his truck and Jae thought she needed to wash hers to.

This Little happy guy is the one that gave me a touch of baby fever a few weeks ago!
                                                    This is Clayton's Little brother

Getting some pool time in with her best bud Clayton.

I am not for sure what they were doing, but is was pretty cute!

A weeks worth of fussing

It's been a little over a week since I have blogged, so I thought I would catch up on the last week.. Last week Me, Lonnie, and Jae went on an 8 hour shopping/browsing trip 2 days in a row. (not a smart thing to do with an almost 3yr old lil girl) On Wednesday when we went she was pretty good for the most part until the ride home. She started fussing until about half way home when she fell asleep. So, the last 30-45 minutes of the trip were peaceful.

So we get up on Thursday morning and have a whole list of places to go, starting with getting Lonnie's hair cut. My plan was to drop Lonnie off and while he was there me and Jae would go visit some friends at the place were I use to work.  Tantrum #1 starts. Jae got so mad at me because first- she wanted to play with the toys that are in the Salon. Second- She wanted to be with her daddy and third- She wanted to see Ms. Tonya. Oh my was she mad. Real tears and all. So we go have a good visit with my friends and she is fine until we go back to pick up lonnie. Here we go again. "I WANNA PLAY WITH MY TOYS." "I WANNA SEE MS. TONYA."  She goes to sleep shortly after that and  when we arrive in the town we were going to (30 min. away) she wakes up.  She seems to be in a better mood so we attempt to go into a Chinese Restaurant.  Lonnie fixes his plate, then I go fix Jae's plate. Within the time I am fixing her plate I am already hearing pretty loud voices come from our table. I get back to the table and she is fussing and Lonnie is trying to scold her quietly. Needless to say I was in a big rush to fix my plate and eat my food. She was getting so loud. I was so thankful we were in a back corner and there was only a young couple and 2 older single people sitting back there.

Next stop was a gift shop. I had to pick up my darling little cousin a Graduation gift. Lonnie and Jae stay in the truck and  I go in to make my purchase. Remind you, while I was walking into the store my child is throwing  a HUGE temper tantrum.  When I came out Our lil fit thrower is asleep again. Ahh, Peace and quiet is all we heard for about 45 minutes. We then took her into 2 stores and she did fine. For some reason She always does great in Lowe's. Strange but true. But as we got ready to go into A certain craft store she started up again. this time it didn't last long So we decided all of us would go in. She was doing ok until we got to the check out. Let me tell you we were in this store in mid afternoon in the middle of the week; so the store was empty and quiet. While at the check out Jae and Lonnie and talking and teasing back and forth( something they always do) and Jae begins to get loud. I being the goof ball person I am Looked at the Cashier and tried to make a joke about it. I said something like" I don't know this kid. I don't know where she came from. The cashier smiled and I thought okay we're gonna make it out of here without anything worse happening. Keep in mind Lonnie and Jae are still goofing off and when they do this for some reason Jae always looks at Lonnie and says " Come on you big ol, big ol guy."So she says this phrase As I pay my money to the cashier and we begin walking out of the store. I can hear this woman say " I heard her say it and then I turned around and saw her." then I heard a man's voice. I turned around and Saw about 4 or 5 Employees staring at me, Lonnie, and Jae. I looked at Lonnie and said " why are they all staring at us?" "All she said was come on you big ol, big ol guy." He then told me that they are not around our 3yr old daughter all the time and probably didn't know what she was really saying. Then he told me they probably thought she was saying "look at that big ol black guy." Oh my gosh, was I so embarrassed that this is what those people probably thought she said. I just wanted to crawl in a hole. Then we get in truck and she falls asleep again. (did I mention that my daughter had only had about 5 hours of sleep before we woke her up that morning?) SO, I run into the grocery store with my list for 2weeks worth of groceries. About 45 minutes later I come out to the truck. Jae is still asleep and Lonnie starts to load the groceries into the truck. All the sudden this woman walks by and very sarcastically says " Boy, you got you some groceries didn't you?" Okay, I have to admit this just made me want to cry and after all the rest of the day had went I just wanted to go crawl under a rock and never come out! I decided our trips after these two days would be limited to 4 hours or less. Unless we were going out of state or something. In the next five days me and Jae only took one trip and it was to my mom's house. We decided it was better to stay home and play outside. Although, now I think after playing and planting some flowers outside for two day; she has developed some nasty allergy problems. After giving her over the counter children's allergy medicine for 3days and not really getting any better we now have a doctor's appointment for tomorrow. This only the 4th  time my child has been sick in almost 3 years. 2 ear infections, strep throat and now allergies.  I think she must of inherited that from her daddy. Hopefully she will get some good meds in her and be back to her energetic self minus the fussing. Now that I am looking back, she might have already been feeling bad. That might of been why she was fussing sooo much. I have to say it has been very quiet the last 2 or 3 days around my house. We'll see what tomorrow brings.  Happy Thursday to all of you!!

Lonnie painted her lil coupe, so she was eager to try it out.

she was eating her happy meal for the first time in the play area outside a McDonald's.
We let her play on the slides there because she was the only kid out there.
She was holding up her flower she planted. She picked out the flower at the hardware store by herself.
